NORTHERN CALIFORNIA:
CONGRATULATIONS!! Our very own Jeraldine "Jeri" Alexander retired from the Oakland office of the FBI. A most wonderful Retirement Luncheon was held on April 22, at Hs. Lordship Restaurant here in the Bay Area on the Berekely Marina. The attendence was just beautiful. Her family, friends and co-workers- from the secretarial staff, FBI agents, to the FBI Administration showed up to praise her for all she had done- from training staff, running the front office, even once pointing out a package mailed to the office as a possible bomb scare, to her delicious sweet potato pies (smile). Again, WELCOME to the land of Retirement!!
On April 25, 2010 we held our annual fundraiser- "Day at the Races". We sold over 150 tickets and everyone that attended had great fun and good food. We all ready have people trying to make "reservations" for next year!!
One of our past scholarship recipients, Dupree Townsend, grandson of Sabrina "Brownie" Wilson, made the Dean's List. A special awards ceremony was held at San Jose State College in recognition of all the students accomplishments.
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA:
The Southern California Chapter was well represented at the Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon given by Cole, Cushenberry, & Eason held every year in Los Angeles.
Our chapter also walked in the Cancer Walk held on Saturday, May 8, 2010.
